Onboarding Wizard
You have installed the Shipping Central app from Microsoft App Source as described here and are ready to set it up to connect Business Central to nShift Delivey. With Shipping Central you can create a new nShift Delivery account, connect with an existing or use a demo account for evaluation.
When starting Business Central after installing Shipping Central you will see a call to run Assisted Setup, press the line to open Assisted Setup list.
The Assisted Setup list can also be opened by searching for assisted setup.
In the Assisted Setup list press “Set up Shipping Central“ to open the setup wizard.
First page of the wizard gives the option to set up Shipping Central as a demo/evaluation environmet or as a production environment.
In demo mode all functions are available to test with a set of fifteen pre-defined carriers. No real booking are made but you can test the apps features and print test shipping labels. To set up demo mark Sandbox (Demo Mode) and press Next.
To set up the Shipping Central with a production nShift account make sure Production is marked and press Next.
When running in production mode a new nShift Delivery account are set up or an existing can be used.See below under “New nShift Delivery account“ how to setup a new nShift Delivery account. If you already have an account you want to use scroll down to ”Use existing nShift Delivery account”.
New nShift Delivery account
To set up a new account check that the “Set up new“ option is marked and press Next.
Choose our region in the drop down list.
I Bussiness Central Shipping Agent and Shipping Agent Services are used on Sales Orders and other source document to describe how an order should be shipped. To let the setup wizard add Shipping Agent and Shipping Agent Services make sure the Setup shipping agent is marked, else unmark it.
Fill in your company details and contact information and press Next.
Read and confirm nShift´s price information by pressing Next.
In the scroll list with carriers choose the ones you are using by marking Selected and when done Press Next.
Note that more carriers can be added later on the nShift Delivery account.
Add your customer no for the carriers and press Next. If you dont have your customer number you add them later from Shipping Central Setup. (Read more on How to add carrier agreement number)
Review the nShift Delivery account to be set up and confirm it by pressing Next.
Now press Finish to finalize the setup.
Your new nShift Delivery account is now ready to use, you will receive an email with confirmation and information on how to access the nShift Delivery portal if needed.
Your new account is now connectet to Shipping Central to be used in your Business Central.
Use existing nShift Delivery account
To set up your existing account mark the “I already have an account“ option press Next.
Set your prefered language (this is the language to display freight services in) and the nShift Delivery API key. How to get you nShift Delivery API key is described here.

Wait for the onboarding process to run. What happened now is that Shipping Central talks to nShift Delivery service and downloads all carriers, carries services and settings that is available on your account and set them up in Business Central.
When the onboarding the carriers on the accont is listed. Add your customer no for the carriers and press Next. If you dont have your customer number you add them later from Shipping Central Setup. (Read more on How to add carrier agreement number)
Now press Finish to finalize the setup.
Shipping Central and nShift Delivery are now connected to each other using your nShift Delivery account.
Next step before staring to pring shipping labels is to Set up Print Node and connect your label printer.
